ABOUT
The Story behind her inspirations stem from
life’s emotions, expressions, surrendering to feelings, moments and
situations, being with the truth essence of a human being. This results
in a narrative with allegorical imagery that’s illustrates our human
experiences and mysteries of our natural world. The lonely and desolate
characters serve as exploration of the human soul, symbolizing power ,
fragility and eternity, but yet retaining a sense of vagueness to
encourage dialogue between the art and the viewer.
She takes her references from the human figure especially faces and the elements of the natural world.
“My journey as an artist started when I was doodling in the walls of my living room. I doodle freely with out restrain and I articulate what I have been dreaming and imagining as I go through with my life. I realized how I drew so freely not because of my hands but because my imagination has become strangely too vivid. I would say that my spirit is the real artist and my hand is just a servant of my soul.
Art has been defined in so many ways and artists in general use art to achieve a higher expression of one self, but in my humble experience, I have preferred to use art to discover my self. With my use of art I am able to appreciate my inner self that I find always wanting to come out. Moreover, as an artist I believe in complete playfulness abandon, freedom and proper technical form will find itself in the normal course of time as my deepest imagination never lets me down, in fact my imagination always surprises me. Painting is to me a spiritual practice is a form of devotional worship to the Holy Spirit. Its showing up everyday in front of a blank canvas or one that’s on the go, and listening to what it wants to move, letting that move go thru me. ” – Ciane Xavier
Building a childhood passion for drawing, Ciane taught her self to paint in her dreams. She was a professional fashion model for over a decade, she had the chance to travel all over the continents and learn the diversity of the human race.
She carries a certificate of Astrobiology with Caltech University and at the moment she is taking a Bachelor in Interior Design.
